Super excited to get an email telling me that my short story, “S. Pread’s Eagle,” was awarded the Confidently Creative trophy in the ongoing Heart battle over at Writing Battle. The much-coveted trophy is represented on site by a retro graphic of a bee. Results for round 2 also dropped — my story won its duel, bringing my total points to 2 (with a LONG way to go). I also found out that my story has a BYE for the next round, which means it doesn’t compete this round and moves on to round 4 automatically. This gives my story a slight advantage now at the cost of a slight disadvantage, should it progress far enough in the brackets to make it into the finals. The next peer-judged Writing Battle starts tonight — if you like to write and you aren’t signed up yet, what are you waiting for??
